Context

Scriptlet is an AI-powered suite of instructional design assistants created to support the next generation of learning experience designers. Originally developed as a trio of advanced GPT tools—CCAF Scenario Builder, Storyline Sidekick, and Microlearning Scriptwriter—Scriptlet is designed to accelerate high-quality learning development while maintaining human-centered pedagogy.

It is offered as a bonus instructional toolkit for readers of the Future Fluent volume, *Prompt. Design. Deliver.*

Challenge

Instructional designers often face complex workflows, tight timelines, and inconsistent resources when developing digital learning. While AI presents incredible opportunities, most tools on the market are generic, unaligned with proven learning models, and lack instructional rigor.

The challenge was to create an AI solution that:

• Reinforces evidence-based instructional frameworks (e.g., CCAF, Merrill’s Principles).

• Streamlines design tasks without sacrificing quality or creativity.

• Supports designers in content generation, scenario writing, and learner engagement planning.

Role

Product Architect, Instructional Designer, and Prompt Strategist — responsible for designing the tool logic, educational frameworks, training use cases, and GPT integration strategies.

Actions

• Developed three GPT-based tools aligned to core instructional needs:

  • CCAF Scenario Builder– Helps designers structure immersive learning scenarios using the Context, Challenge, Activity, Feedback model.

  • Storyline Sidekick – Supports rapid script development, branching dialogue, and decision-tree generation for Articulate Storyline or other tools.

  • Microlearning Scriptwriter – Generates concise, spaced learning scripts with a storytelling approach, tailored to short-form content.

• Created user guides and prompt templates within the *Prompt. Design. Deliver.* book to support use and adoption.

• Built and tested workflow-specific use cases for onboarding, compliance, systems training, and coaching scenarios.

• Designed instructional personas and tone selectors to adapt outputs to real-world learner profiles.

• Developed a system for customizable content variables (e.g., difficulty level, tone, learning goals).

Results (Projected/Current Milestones)
